You Love to Camp

Hey there!  I’m finally posting my first Things That Shine layout today!!!  It has been a stressful few weeks of major computer problems leading to a not so sudden death last Thursday.  Ugh!!!  But, as you can tell I’m up and running, which means major dollars forked over for a new machine  and thankfully a techy type guy to transfer all our data over to this new beast.  So, on to the layout.

DSCN3769I used the first days of summer kit from Ashley Calder and the Things That Shine to create this layout.  This wonderful kit full of fresh greens and aqua blues was perfect for this camping layout.

DSCN3755This woodsy washi tape is a perfect back drop for my title.  I love the contrast of the masculine feel and the lovely sentiments.

To coordinate with the washi, I used walnut ink to customize plain cream photo corners.  The layer of dictionary paper is actually part of the kit packaging.  I just dry brushed some acrylic paint over it to coordinate with the green embellishments from the kit.

And last but not least, I had to include this detail, similar to my sneak post, of this super cute wood veneer tree and hanging birdie.  I placed the star embellishments around the tree to really give the feel of camping under the stars and also for my star camper!

So, pop over the Ashley’s etsy shop Things That Shine a get this wonderful kit for yourself.  It is perfect for capturing your summer memories; bike rides, picnics in the park, long walks, and more.  Actually I’ve got another project waiting in the wings I made with this kit and I still have left over goodies.

See ya soon with more Shiney Projects and visit Ashley’s shop so you can get Shiney too!!

Love this! And I love that you used the kit packaging. I was totally thinking about camping and going to camp when I made this kit, so I love that you made a camping themed page. 🙂
