Hey all!!  It’s April 15th, time for a new sketch challenge from Sketch-N-Scrap.  Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my take:DSCN3387

A new Paris layout featuring the Notre-Dame Cathedral.  The picture in the middle is my photo and the pictures on either side are postcards I purchased on our trip.    This layout was made with the March 2014 kits from Jenni Bowlin Studio and items from my stash.  I absolutely love the kit stencil and the chalkboard style flatback designed by the lovely Betsy Sammarco!!

Here are the details:

To get this effect with the stencil, I pulled Iridescent Silver acrylic paint by Liquitex through the stencil with an old credit card.  I used the thicker paint from the tube.  It works really well and gives texture with its’ slight raised affect.

Now it’s your turn.  Pop over to the Sketch-N-Scrap Challenge Blog to get all the details and link your page up.  You have a chance to win a $20 gift certificate from Creative Embellishments and a chance to be the Featured Scrapper for the month.

While making this layout, I really got the feeling that the system I created for my Paris trip seems to be working.  So, I just wanted to share my very first layout in this series with this current page.

1st Paris layout.

Most current Paris layout.

In this case, you can see that although none of the exact supplies repeat, the colors and  techniques create a cohesive feel.  You can refer back to my post Thus Far… to read about the system I came up with to attack a large project like this and not get bored with your supplies.  You can also check my board on Pinterest “My Paris Scraps” to see all my Paris layouts.  Just click on the Pinterest link in my sidebar.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful scrappy day!!!!!!!
