bird = un oiseau

Getting dotty this week over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!  Here’s my entry….

DSCN2190

I began this “French Word” tag by doing a photocopy transfer, with one of my own Paris photographs, on top of the My Mind’s Eye dotted paper.  I was surprised and delighted by the streaky brush stroke lines running through my transferred image.  I think it happened because of the textured surface of the My Mind’s Eye paper.  And that’s exactly what I love about transfers, you never quite know how they’ll turn out.  It’s a little bit of arty magic!!!

This sweet little bird is from the Claudine Hellmuth Studio clear stamp set “Spring Garden”,  which is stamped in dash of red paint.

More dots with the Fiskars punch, circular trim from Webster’s Pages, and the stamped frame from the “Words & Frames 1” set by Claudine Hellmuth Studio.  Under the frame is a bit of Jenni Bowlin Studio patterned paper that I distressed and aged with gesso and sanding.  I then brought it back to life with a bit of the same dash of red paint and frayed burlap Distress Ink.
