Happy New Year everyone!!
It’s not only a new year, but the beginning of a new month, which means a brand new sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap. Here is the January 1st sketch.
And here is my take with a Paris layout…
You can see I changed it up a bit. I used one photo, but utilized the design by placing pieces of My Mind’s Eye bright floral patterned paper and a Jenni Bowlin Studio Fortune Telling mini deck card in the spots meant for the photos.
Beautiful Flowers – I stitched on the title, made from JBS Cardstock Alpha stickers, over the tone on tone floral paper designed by Lisa Dickinson for JBS Mercantile. I created the idea of photo corners by messily overlapping my machine stitching.
I had so much fun creating and layering this area of embellishments that help to tell the little story of this page….the Young Women card, the travel themed banner flags, and the doily and button flowers.
To create the embossed doilies I used Gold Zing embossing powder, Versamark ink, and the My Mind’s Eye Lavender “Cutie Pie” stamps from The Sweetest Thing collection. I stamped the doily images on vellum, embossed, and then trimmed out.
Why not use this sketch as an opportunity to start the new year off on a “scrappy roll”. You have the entire month to link up, so pop over to Sketch-N-Scrap to get all the details. You’ll have a chance at a random prize and you could be chosen as a Featured Artist. Yay and double yay!!!
